Borrn in Scotland, Peter Marshall emigrated to the U.S. in 1927 and started his career as a minister of religion. Within 19 years he rose to be Chaplain of the United States Senate, spent time as a "preacher" in the Deep South, but it was from the New York Avenue Church in Washington, D.C. that his voice reached its greatest power and widest audience. The book writtne by Peter Marshall's wife tell not only the story of this gifted and successful minister, but tells of thier loving life together. Sadly, Marshall died at the agea of 46. HIs lead a life characterised by enthuasism, a love of God, strong comittment and enjoyment of outsdoor sports, all coupled with irrepressible good humor. A delightful and heart warming read.
