A very good copy with slight wear to outer wrappers (folding chemise; chiefly at head and foot of spine and lower edges); previous owner's blindstamp on inner upper flap; else a near fine copy internally. 47, [7] pages. Text in French. Limited edition reprinting of the original 1930 text (from the series "Peintres Nouveaux"; not located in Freitag), with additional introductory essays by Jean Cassou ("Le rire de la sagesse") and Maurice Nadeau ("Voies de fait"). Issued in conjunction with the exhibition "Deja Jadis: Autour de Georges Ribemont-Dessaignes, un Ecrivain et Ses Amis" at the Villan Arson, Centre National des Arts Plastiques in Nice. Also notable for the reproduced holograph of Philippe Soupault (8vo sheet, recto only, in purple ink) in support of the center's exhibition. One of 1000 numbered copies (the entire edition; this is number 0319), printed at the presses of the Imprimerie Mussot, Paris, completed September 28, 1984. Unbound signatures, laid loose as issued in medium stock folding chemise. Provenance: From the library of noted gallery owner David A.
