A propos de cet article

CONDITION: Very Good; 1915 Christmas gift inscription, board colour uneven, gilt dull, extrems lightly bumped, but spine is "squashed" as if the printer made it too roomy; one 1/2" gutter tear, several pages dog-eared on bottom, tight, solid, and very clean but the book feels as if it has been read and loved. Picture Book Hardback small Mr. Barker Bow, /Of whom you have heard before,/Would hardly ever allow/Anyone in at his door; /But after times exciting/ Of which you're about to read,/And all the hurry and fighting,/ He's very much changed indeed!" A large, endearing white terrier in a rumpled suit becomes a popular hero in the neighborhood. Told with a Beginning, 12 funny one page poem "Chapters" each with a full colour painting, and a Chapter the Last. Although Alan Wright is identified as the illustrator in the English copy, he wrote other little books similar to these and I suspect he both wrote and illustrated this one as well. ABE Heritage Seller since 1996; conservative AB condition grading. We ship all our books in cardboard protection. International shipping. /AW, illustrator. N° de réf. du libraire 20095
