Half leather binding with gilt titles to red labels, gilt naval motif to the compartments, marbled paper covered boards, marbled end papers and page edges, worn and marked, with minor loss to the top of Vol I. Portrait illustrations throughout. A total of 49 portraits including the frontispieces, with 10 maps/charts complete as per the directions to the binder or List of Plates. The first map of the West Indies has been crudely repaired with a central section of the map missing see photos. Pagination: Vol I xvi, xxiii, 539pp, 3pp adverts, 7 maps/charts, frontispiece and 7 further portrait plates. Joints good condition worn and rubbed, sound. Corners good condition bumped and worn. Boards good condition half leather and marbled paper covered boards, marked and worn.
