Volume 4 contains a reprint of a letter by the great Orientalist and Talmud-scholar and -translator (into German), Lazarus Goldschmidt [after introduction to Taanith], whereby he endorses Rodkinson's translation, while he [Goldschmidt] admits not being completely fluent in English. Goldschmidt then continues to endorse Rodkinson's educational status.
