Description :

With maps by Arthur Hawkins. [12], 339 pages, many maps and diagrams, cloth, DJ, very good. From the dust jacket: "By October 4, 1942, a vast surge of military power would be focused in the five major battle areas of the war: at Guadalcanal in the South Pacific; El Alamein in the Eastern Mediterranean; French North Africa in the Western Mediterranean; Stalingrad in Russia; and the Barents Sea in the North Atlantic. The armies and the navies of the Allies and the Axis would meet in these five crucial head-on clashes. At the end of ninety days it would be a different war indeed. This is a story of places and people; of battles and personalities; of events and the men who shaped them. " B13-2 ; 339 pages. N° de réf. du libraire 23472
