Description du livre Norrcena Society, London, Copenhagen, Stockholm, Berlin, New York, 1905. Leather. État : Very Good. No Jacket. Various {engravings} (illustrateur). Limited. This fifteen volume set is numbered 9 of a printing of 350 copies. Private press, printed for members only. Binding remain very tight, boards solid. All volumes have some wear at the corners with boards showing, chipping of spines {upper and lower}. Spine sections are showing more wear then boards. Marbled endpapers sewn to textblocks. Frontispieces of all volumes are hand-tinted with printed protective tissues. All volumes contain numerous black and white engraved illustration plates. Each have printed protective tissues. Volume 15 - 'The Norse Discovery of America' also includes a tri-fold map of Vinland {no tears}. Unfortunately, the set has slight fire damage. Some discoloration bottom front board and hinge of volume 9 - 'The Heimskringla'. Some damage to lower fep of same. Discoloration upper corner of Volume 11, lower and fore-edge front cover of Volume 12. Both Volume 11 - 'The Eddas' and Volume 14 - 'The Arthurian Tales' have repaired spines showing portions of backing material. Interior textblocks have slightly yellowed with age, but very clean and tight in bindings. No ownership or other markings. Very little foxing or shadowing. A very interesting collection of legends, history, and culture. Due to the size and weight of the set, it will require additional shipping. Size: 8vo - over 7¾" - 9¾" tall. Limited, Numbered.
