A propos de cet article

162 pages, well illustrated, tone 3-views, tables, cloth, DJ, very good. 7.5 by 10 inches. From the introduction: In the Korean War, the F-86 Sabre was the plane that won and held control of the air for the United Nations How the F-86 was developed, and how it won this victory is the theme of this book. Even had the Korean war not been fought, the F-86 would have been remembered in history as the first American swept-wing jet fighter. Not only did it serve the Air Force in a variety of forms, but it became the first Air Force fighter to be successfully adapted for Navy use since the Boeing biplanes of the early thirties. Twenty-five nations adopted it in one form or another for their forces, making it the most widely-used jet fighter in the world, and four nations outside the United States built the own Sabres.
