A most interesting production with a mixture of local history and fine old recepies, published on the occasion of Liverpool, Nova Scotia's bicentennial year, 1759-1959, by the Zion Guild of Zion United Church, Liverpool. Simeon Perkins came to Nova Scotia from Norwich, Connecticut in 1762. He opened a store and later entered the lumber and shipbuilding business. He owned and operated many ships and had much to do with the privateers who sailed out of Liverpool to attack the commerce of His Majesty's enemies from Cape Cod to the Spanish Main, His house is still standing in Liverpool. There is a short bio of Perkin's by Canadian writer Thomas H. Raddall. The illustrations include historical artifacts, ships, buildings, etc. Many of the recipes where brought from the New England area by the early pioneeers. Size: 8 Vo., N° de réf. du libraire 123874
