Black cloth in unclipped jacket. 279 pp. A work of historical fiction revolving around the life and exploits of the privateer or pirate, Captain Henry Morgan. By Josephine Tey (also a pseudonym), who was perhaps best known for her mysteries. POOR jacket on a GOOD book. Heavy chipping, tearing, creasing and loss to the jacket along the hinges, flaps and extremities, almost completely separated along the flap hinges. Heavy creasing, some scuffing and soiling to the jacket, being overall extremely worn and fragile. General fading, minor soiling and edgewear to the book. One interior top corner-fold and one page with a creased fore-edge. DJ very good color and in excellent condition (had been nicely protected by an old mylar). Description du livre First edition, first printing. Publisher's original blue cloth with yellow titles to the spine, in dustwrapper. A very good or better copy, the binding square and firm, the cloth with a few faint marks but bright and fresh. The contents, with a small bookseller's label to the front pastedown and some light spotting to the endpapers, are otherwise clean throughout and without inscriptions or stamps. Complete with the rubbed, nicked and creased price-clipped dustwrapper that has several short closed tears and tiny chips at the fold corners. Uncommon in the dustwrapper. A fictionalised account of the life of the pirate Henry Morgan by the author better known as Josephine Tey. Further details and images for any of the items listed are available on request. The penultimate work by Scottish author Gordon Daviot/Josephine Tey, a fictionalised reconstruction of the life of the privateer Henry Morgan, written in the last year of the author's life. A very good book, no inscriptions with the page edges age tanned slightly. Small blue and gold sticker for the Presbyterian Bookshop Melbourne at base of front paste down. A near complete very good dust jacket, price-clipped with some bumping on the corners. small stitches of transparent tape repair on reverse of the jacket. Some rubbing to front cover. Back cover has lavish praise for The Daughter of Time by Josephine Tey. A subtle acknowledgement to, but with no definitive mention of this being the same author. N° de réf. du vendeur 17871
