Original cloth backed pictorial paper covered boards. -------- In good condition throughout - boards and spine good with some signs of age - the colour picture of the man to the front cover has got a couple of scuffs to it. Cloth spine good and binding secure with all pages present and in good condition. The fold-out model is in very good condition with all parts present and working with no damage. Cloth-backed paper boards, the front cover with a coloured vignette, the covers a little dusted and slightly bowed, the internal figures in fine condition. *The text is by EDUARD OSKAR SCHMIDT [1823-1886], translated and edited by Furneaux, originally published in the 1890s and reissued a number of times into the 1930s. Tall folios, 18.5 x 8 inches. Each includes 16p of explanatory text with in-text illustrations, and a multi-layer fold-out diagram in the back (the ladies' version including a modesty fold) featuring the various layers of the body - skin, muscle, bones, organs. The male issue is in about very good condition with a small chip to the lower right corner and oil mark opposite. Light soil and abrasion to both volumes.
