Pilgrim Reader Books, a member of IOBA since 2002, is a used book store located in the village of Combermere, on the shores of the Madawaska River in the province of Ontario, Canada. We have an open shop (Wednesday to Saturday; 11:00 am to 5:00 pm all year and summer-time hours of Tuesday to Saturday; 10:00 am to 5:00 pm for the months of July and August). The village is located in the highlands just to the southeast of Algonquin Park, probably one of the more stunningly gorgeous and staggeringly beautiful parts of Ontario, especially in the fall. Along with a large and varied selection of Canadiana, Polish books and books about Poland, children's and juvenile books of all sorts, general history, poetry and drama, fiction, mysteries, local history and authors (Ottawa Valley and Algonquin Provincial Park), we have an extensive inventory of Catholic books and Catholica in the store, some of which is listed on-line. Books on Catholic liturgy, theology, Canon Law, lives of saints (hagiography), prayer books, missals, devotionals, breviaries; liturgical music, parish histories, Franciscans, Cistercians or Trappists, Carmelites, and other various religious orders, missions, Christology, catechisms and catechetics, church history, Marian, the Papacy, priesthood, sacraments, preaching and homiletics, spiritual direction and pastoral writings, books for young Catholics . . . . and so much more. How much more? The store houses ~100,000 books of which some 9000 are listed on line.
All stated prices for books and shipping are in US dollars. We accept payment using VISA, MasterCard, American Express or PayPal. We also accept cheques, bank drafts, and money orders (international mo's if not Canadian) all in either Canadian or US dollars or UK pounds. We will bill on account for institutions when credit is established. Books are shipped immediately upon receipt of payment and will be held for 14 days pending receipt of payment. Shipping costs are based on books weighing 2.2 LB, or 1 KG. If the book weighs less, the charges will be lowered. If the book weighs more, we usually absorb the extra cost but may contact you if the weight is substantially more. Books are shipped the next business day. All books are well packed with ample packaging and moisture protection. Insurance is provided on all shipments at no extra cost. We normally ship using Canada Post but will also use the carrier of your choice.
