This book has been inscribed and signed on the frontpaper - "To - Kurt and Anita Rosinger with the compliments of Cyril Stanley Smith - Oct. 1942". The book is very clean with both the spine and the covers having very good, unworn and unbumped edges. The ivory spine is somewhat darkened, with still bright gilt lettering on the spine label. There is a small whitish spot on the back cover. The covers are perfectly attached without any cracking. One of 1,000 copies of this first edition. xxvi, 476 very clean, crisp and tightly bound pages. Some pages are still uncut. Illustrated with early woodcuts. Almost 8 inches by 11 inches.
