An attractive copy from the library of Civil War historian Bud Robertson, with his bookplate on the front pastedown. Robertson, in his section on "Military Aspects -- Soldier Life" in the Nevins Bibliography, describes this as "[a] typical unity history" but "relatively weak on personal incidents and insights"; he notes that the 10th New York "campaigned almost entirely with the Army of the Potomac". There is a light stain to the leading edge of the textblock affecting some pages just a bit. Gift inscription to General Frederick T. Locke, who was Chief of Staff for the Army of the Potomac's V Corps. "Compliments of G. W. Hackett". (Nevins I, 75). Very Good+ binding. N° de réf. du libraire 268445
