Description :

CONDITION: Near Fine book in Very Good box; no names or other marks, book is bright and perfect with all the pop-ups and sliders working and in perfect condition and all the original little parts intact: tin alligator clicker, the balloon, the three paint cakes, and the paint brush. The only flaws are from these parts. The balloon, never replaced and now nearing 60 years old, has become sticky and created a 3/8" pull tear on the facing page (a loose piece of wax paper now prevents more problems); also, the wood of the brush handle has made a pale offset on the facing page. The box bottom is straight and strong but stained on the bottom; the top has sturdy corners, but a convex top section, and is darkening a little, still the box is overall in nice condition, clean and unmarked. Picture book softcover in box. This book is made of thin card; it was intended to be played with and used up. It seems to be waiting for a child. the little animals hop around and the monkey still swings round and round on his bar. A nice period piece by a well known creator of 40's toy books. ABE Heritage Seller since 1996; conservative AB condition grading. We ship all our books in cardboard protection. International shipping. /DK, illustrator. N° de réf. du libraire 19561
