A propos de cet article

Condition: Poor - a reading copy only, all pages and text present but damaged; a pointed bolt or screw tore through the middle of the issue leaving a small triangular "crater" on each page with a tiny hole in the middle and three closed tears emanating from it; in addition, there is a short closed tear to the mid-area of each page and a closed tear to the right edge of several pages; the first two inside pages are detached but present. A large, glossy-paged magazine measuring 10-1/4" by 13" and containing 124 pages including front and rear covers. Highlights include: An Informal Guide to Japan by Stuart Griffin and Judith Friedberg; The New Far West [Japan] by Frank Gibney; The Unscrambling Eggheads by Herbert Passin (on Japan: "In a country where intellectuals are prosperous, respected - and troublemaking - a new breed may be turning away from the blind, bland leftism of its elders"); short story The Tattooer by Junichiro Tanizaki ("Vice in a earlier age, described by Japan's most distinguished living writer"); Good-bye Kyoto, Hello Spacement by Donald Keene (on Japanese writers, with a photo of Yukio Mishima); Toshiro Mifune: Japan's Top Sword by Kenichi Yoshida; Who's Americanized? by Edward Seidensticker ("Striptease and kabuki thrive side by side in Japan, where 'modern' means a tricky blend of new and traditional ways of life"); photospread Screen Test: Yoko Okura; A Bunny's Tale by Gloria Steinem ("SHOW's First Expose for Intelligent People"); The Artist-Victims of France by Francis Steegmuller; The Murderous Music Business by Alvin Toffler.
