A propos de cet article

This book brings together research into Sibert de Beka (d. 1332), whose "Ordinal" had a profound influence upon the liturgy and spirituality of the Carmelite Order in the Middle Ages and beyond. The publication, edited by Kevin Alban, O.Carm., includes a facsimile of the 1910 Paris edition of the Carmelite Ordinal collated by Fr. Benedict Zimmerman. The book brings together 6 presentations made at the Carmelite Liturgical Seminar held in Rome 6-8 July 2009, with contributions from Kevin Alban ("Sibert de Beka - The Man and his Times"), Arie Kallenberg ("The Ordinal of Sibert de Beka: Manuscripts, Dissemination and Rule"), James Boyce ("The Ordinal of Sibert de Beka and the Development of Carmelite Liturgical Identity"), Cristina Dondi ("La Liturgia del Santo Sepolcro di Gerusalemme"), Paul Chandler ("Reflections on the Ordinale of Sibert de Beka"), and Christopher O'Donnell ("Carmelite liturgical studies: a way ahead - Seminar conclusions"). The volume is published in memory of Fr. James Boyce, O.Carm. This book was published in 2010 by the Edizioni Carmelitane (the publishing house of the Carmelite Curia in Rome), on behalf of the Institutum Carmelitanum (the Order's scholarly academy), as volume 32 in the "Textus et Studia Historica Carmelitana" series. Paperback. 402 pages. N° de réf. du libraire 000181
