Critique: * One of the first books about the cocaine trade and still among the best. -- Norman Mailer * Wisecracking and higly informative. Sunday Telegraph * Sabbag is a first-rate writer ... His book is a triumphant piece of reporting. New Yorker * Makes membrane-zingingly good drama-documentary... Esquire * Sabbag is an incisive reporter and a stylish class-A writer. The Times * An extremely rare cut of dry wit, poetry, rock-hard fact and relentless insight into modern American morality. Rolling Stone * Blistering reportage with a matchless line-up of renegades ... Observer

Description du livre Canongate, 1999. Hardcover. État : Fine. 1st Edition. A Brief Career in the Cocaine Trade. This extradordinary edition of the cult classic Snowblind - the 'scammer's bible' about the exploits of legendary cocaine smuggler Zachary Swan - was designed by Damien Hirst in 1998. Only 1000 copies were printed and with unbelievable production values. The boards of the book are made from reinforced mirrors. Inside the book, the title page is numbered and signed by the collaborators - Damien Hirst, Howard Marks and Robert Sabbag - and the book comes with a metal credit card as a bookmark in the style of an American Express card. Inside the book, a special die-cut trench runs through the pages that feature Zachary Swan's most daring import/export manoeuvres, and inside this trench hides - Agatha Christie style - a real $100 bill, rolled up. The final three digits of the note, which were specially secured from the US Treasury, correspond to the number of the edition from the run of one thousand. So, for example, book number 831 has as the last digits of the $100 bill numbers 831. The edition comes in a special slip case featuring the same artwork as the endpapers: reproduced dollar bills in various kinds of poses, and all copies are numbered, sealed and protected when bought. Retailed at £1000 when published. The book is brand new and still sealed in the original packaging, boxed, unopened and unblemished. All books are swathed in biodegradeable bubble wrap and posted in strong, custom made book boxes to ensure undamaged delivery. Signed by Author(s). N° de réf. du libraire 002711
