A propos de cet article

1240 pages, cloth, dj, very good. From the dj, 'The last two decades have witnessed a great outpouring of books on almost all aspects of Russia, yet no major bibliography has appeared in any language on Soviet foreign affairs and world communism. In dealing with over 7,000 books in thirty languages, the present bibliography is designed to be much more comprehensive than any existing reference source in this area of scholarship. This work gives careful attention to four major subjects: Soviet political and economic relations with all countries since 1917; Communist movements in all regions and countries since 1917; Various aspects of Soviet foreign policy - ideology, propaganda, strategy and tactics, and espionage; Internal developments in all Communist countries except the USSR. The bibliography is divided into three main parts. Part I, Soviet Foreign Relations by Chronological Periods, lists works that discuss Soviet dealings with more than one country. Part II, Soviet Foreign Relations and Communism by Regions and Countries, comprises the greater part of the volume: if a particular work deals only, or primarily, with one area or country, it has been put in this part, which is arranged geographically. Part III, Special Topics, deals with material that is not adaptable to chronological or geographical classification - such topics as Communist ideology, the Comintern, and Soviet military power. Individual sections have been edited and annotated by such outstanding scholars as Robert J. Alexander, John A. Armstrong, Frederick C. Barghoorn, and George F. Kennan.'.
