A propos de ce titre

Synopsis :

Includes bibliography and index.

From Library Journal:

This work achieves the rare distinction of delving, in telling fashion, into the mores of early 19th-century England while simultaneously being a first-rate thriller. The Thurtell-Hunt murder case was a cause celebre which titillated all of England, and its background, dramatis personae, and general circumstances tell us much about the age. This book is more than a detailed study of an isolated occurrence; it is, as the subtitle correctly suggests, truly a mirror on the age in which it transpired. The work belongs in most academic libraries as well as in general public collections. Highly recommended. History Book Club alternate. James A. Casada, History Dept., Winthrop Coll., Rock Hill, S.C.
