In India hardly we have database but for few a books on Indian fungi, compiled from time to time by some mycologists. The present book includes 16 chapters contributed by eminent mycologists. Chapters include data on diversity, taxonomy, ecology and application of Helicosporous fungi, genus Spegazzinia, Rusts and Smuts, Chaetomiaceae, Macrophomina, Rhizoctonia, Russula, wild edible fungi, poisonous mushrooms, insect fungi and other related aspects. A propos de l'auteur: K.G. Mukerji, retired Senior Professor, University of Delhi, India is a distinguished mycologist and microbial ecologist. He is well known for his research contributions all over the world and has published over 600 research papers. More than 60 students have completed their Ph.D. in Botany under his supervision. He is on the editorial board of several national and international journals dealing with Botany, Mycology, Plant Pathology, Microbiology and Biotechnology. He is also an Honorary Member of the Research Board of Advisors of the American Biographical Institute, North Carolina, USA, besides being a member of numerous societies and associations concerning mycology, plant pathology and microbial ecology. C. Manoharachary, D.Sc. has 40 years of teaching and research experience. He specializes in the areas of Mycology, Plant Pathology, Fungal Biotechnology and Microbial Ecology. He has 16 books and more than 400 research papers to his credit. He has guided 46 Ph.D. students and is at present engaged in research as Emeritus Scientist of CSIR at the Department of Botany, Osmania University, Hyderabad, India.
