Privately printed by T. C. Riddell, this is a re-issue in a limited edition of the book which first appeared in 1912 by publishers Maunsel. The original is very scarce whereas this later and equally uncommon edition has a nice association. Riddell was a close friend of William Andrews, the brother of Thomas Andrews. A laid in typed and signed letter on his own "John Hastie, Greenock", engineering company stationary describes how William lent Riddell the original, and he was so impressed with it that he decided to have some copies privately printed. The letter is to James McNeill, and the book also has a dedication from Riddell to McNeil, dated 21.1.63. There is also a note that this is copy number 56 of the print run. Has photo frontis and 3 photo-plates of the Titanic and such. Contains a foreword by T. C. Riddell dated 7th November 1962, and an introductory chapter by Sir Horace Plunkett. Excellent crisp tight clean unfaded copy in midnight blue buckram binding with gilt Andrews signature on front board. xvi+84pp Size: 12mo. N° de réf. du vendeur h0008
