Endpapers renewed. , There is a watermark present on one of the plates dated 1835.This according to Abbey ?cannot have appeared before 1828, and watermarks as late as 1833?containing seventeen plates only, the title (letterpress) altered to?Seventeen Coloured Plates, with a contents page, and the text increased so as to consist of numbered pages 5 to 55. The plates omitted are Numbers 8, 11, 12, and 14. It is perhaps more than a coincidence that these four plates are very closely copied from plates of the same title in Peake?s Characteristic Constume, Nos 85 and 87.?
