Full contemporary calf. Spine in six compartments of raised bands with gilt decorative devices. Gilt title on red calf label on 2. Marbled glued and free end papers. , Smyth was a British national living in the US at the time the American Revolutionary War. He gained the reputation of a ?zealot loyalist? through the war, and suffered large personal financial losses as a result of it. It has been speculated that Smyth wrote this book in an attempt to gain favor from the British Government, perhaps with the motive to regain some of his financial loss. , Size : 8vo.
