Spine slightly sunned and cocked, end papers lightly tanned. An excellent copy in a lightly toned jacket with nicked and chipped extremities and a couple of closed tears to front fold and rear panel. First edition, first printing of this collection of poetry. This copy from the library of literary critic Oscar Cargill, with his ownership signature to front pastedown. First Edition. 147 pp. Fine copy in a very nearly fine dust-jacket, with a tear near head of spine, one unfortunate chip missing from the front of the dj and a few minor splits, some darkening in gutters but very attractive copy in blue cloth boards. The author's second book. Rukeyser established her career as a poet and political activist at an early age (her first book, which won the Yale Younger Poets award appeared when she was 22). Rukeyser's activism spanned from the Spanish Civil War to Viet Nam, and her work has been significantly praised by poets from Kenneth Rexroth to Adrienne Rich. N° de réf. du libraire 65
