And the wonderful thing about using silk or cotton scarves is that it’s so darned easy! Why? Because scarves come already hemmed and finished off. This book shows you how to create garments that take advantage of the scarf’s original shape, and with a little straight stitching here and there you will create the most terrific apparel. 16 easy to follow projects to create, plus 10 variations. And you don’t have to be a size 0 to look good in them! They’re loose and flowing, right in fashion, and easy for any size or shape to wear. Each design comes with detailed instructions on what size of scarves to use, step by step instructions with graphic illustrations for each step, and a fashion sketch of the finished garment. All you have to do is choose your favorite and follow the instructions
À propos de l'auteur: In the process of moving to various locations, Fiona Gribbon has started and run a wide variety of fabric based businesses, including one creating original garments from silk or silky scarves, on which this book is based. She both created and sold tops following the patterns you will find here, and ran successful workshops teaching others to do so. Fiona originally learned to design and sew clothes from her grandmother, a clothing designer and dressmaker. She then formally trained in fashion design, graphic design and also interior design and brings the principles from all three disciplines to her work. Not only does Fiona create a wide range of unique and original items for sale, she has, for many years, taught others how to create their own through books, workshops and classes. Her ideas and methods have been well tested both by Fiona and by her students.
