277 pages, well illustrated, cloth, wear to spine, otherwise tight and clean. Reprint. Illustrated by Clayton Knight. The most famous of all WWI narratives by an American aviator in France. After Grider was killed in June 1918, his squadron mate Elliot White Springs continued the narrative through August 1918 possibly to hide the true identity of the author. The whole has been greatly edited and rewritten by Springs and is often credited to him but the basic work is Grider's. An excellent picture of the rushed and often fatal training conditions of 1917-1918. First published in a limited edition of 210 copies and serialized, under mysterious circumstances, in Liberty Magazine in 1926.; 277 pages. N° de réf. du libraire 39063
