Large Folio. (2) 42 plates, one of them a double plate. Deluxe pebbeled leather with gilt lettering and decorative framing on covers, gilt lettering, tooling and ruling on spine; raised bands. Housed in brown leather-covered slipcase. Gilt edges. Heavy decorative endpapers in color. Lithograph on title page: "The People Saw It." Small lithograph on following page. Original front paper wrapper bound in. Presented as "One Hundred Original Lithographs Drawn On Stone By The Artist" in the impressum. Pann decided to publish the portfolio with 47 lithographs, thinking of printing and publishing the remainder at a later date. After having published his first set of 25 Biblical lithographs in 1924, Abel Pann dedicated the following five years almost exclusively to the "The Five Books of Moses," creating a set of lithographs considered to be among the greatest works of religious art of all times. Images captioned at bottom of each page in English and Hebrew, signed in the plate. Slipcase with very light wear along edges. Minor wear at corners of binding. Very light smudging on title page. The front cover has a stamped dedication from Mr. and Mrs. George Z. Lefton ( The porcelain manufacturer) to Mr. and Mrs. Hyman I.Sapoznik. Very good to near fine condition.
