This autobiography begins with a charming chapter about the author's early life in Britain where she first learned to love and respect animals. The story then moves to the southern Arizona convent and her piteous and at the same time hilarious experiences with the creatures who seem to be drawn to her: a Mexican burro; a young goat; a rabbit; a dog; a quorum of cats, mostly Siamese; and other casual animal visitors to the convent.
