A propos de cet article

Signed by Gregory Corso. His first book. A very special copy for it was Ruth Witt-Diamant's copy. Her name is written on the title page. She founded and was the first director of the San Francisco State University Poetry Center in 1954. She was instrumental in getting this book published. A truly brilliant association copy. Printed in an edition of 500 copies, of which approximately half were estimated to have been lost in the mail. Staple-bound wraps with white covers titled in black and blue on front and priced "one dollar" in black on back. 35 pages. Published when the Corso was only 25 years old. The cost of the book was underwritten by friends of Corso's at Harvard, where he was allowed to continue to audit courses as a non-matriculating student by Archibald MacLeish to whom he had shown his poems, and where the first of his poems were published in The Harvard Advocate. The book bears an introduction signed P. L. B., and is dedicated "For all my friends . . . my beautiful Cambridge friends. 8vo, original printed wrappers designed by Nick Cikovsky. Sunning and light staining to covers as is common for this edition. Front cover has a tiny corner chip and a crease. A very good copy. Contents clean. Custom made folding slip case with gilt lettering on spine. See photos. N° de réf. du libraire 005231
