EARLY EDITION circa 1915 (first published by A. & C. Black in 1912), oblong 4to, 230 x 290 mm, 9 x 11¼ inches, yellow cloth gilt lettered, oval coloured plate onlaid, 64 pages. 30 enchanting, full page colour plates, 2 smaller coloured illustrations, most of young children. Each plate faces a nursery rhyme with the original tunes harmonised by Alfred Moffat. No inscriptions, minute bump to lower corners of covers, 2 tiny faint stains to lower cover, very small area of slightest bubbling to cloth on upper cover next to bottom of spine, contents immaculate. A near Fine bright crisp copy, lacking dustwrapper. The first edition was printed by Edmund Evans in Swan Street for A. & C. Black and is rather scarce, our copy is printed by Augener.
