Illustrated with 12 hand-coloured fashion plates, 17 other finely hand-coloured plates, and 6 lithographed needlework patterns. Also included are two engraved plates showing examples of printing techniques for bank notes which illustrate a short article on new techniques for engraving printing blocks in order to frustrate efforts to forge bank notes. There is also an engraved advertisement for a harp manufacturer at the end of the volume. COMPLETE AS CALLED-FOR with no plates missing. A bound volume of 6 monthly parts of this popular Regency-era periodical spanning July to December 1820. Bound in contemporary half calf with marble paper sides. Professionally rebacked retaining and incorporating the original gold-lettered spine. Extremities of the binding slightly rubbed. Light offsetting from some of the coloured plates onto their adjacent text pages and from some of the fashion plates onto their adjacent plate as is usual with this work. A small tear to the top edge of the advertisement for harps, not affecting the image. Otherwise, a very clean copy with the text block sound, the plates bright and vibrant and the binding in good condition. Further photographs are available on request.
