A Rare Original Hand Written Letter Signed by Hugh Goldwin Rivière. Dated 1908.The letter discusses the possibility of a print of his portrait of Sir John Hare being exhibited at the Garrick Club and his view on how the Royal Academy has hung the original. Hugh Goldwin Rivière (1869?1956) was a noted British portraitist. He was one of seven children of Briton Rivière and was of Huguenot descent. Examples of his work are held in a very wide variety of public collections, including the Victoria Art Gallery in Bath, Guildhall Art Gallery and Victoria and Albert Museum in London, the Royal Shakespeare Company, Cheltenham Art Gallery, Gloucestershire County Council, and the Royal Albert Memorial Museum, Exeter. Size is 150mm x 125mm. Condition is good. Letter with light folding creases. More images can be taken upon request. Ref16884.
