Éditeur : Edinburgh: Printed for Laing and Forbes , 1834, 1865.
Date d'édition : 1865
FIRST COLLECTED EDITION. 2 vols., 8vo, the 'Supplement' bound at the end of vol. 1, title-pages in red & black with wood-engr. vignette, 10th C. half green morocco, marbled sides, spines dull. [The 'Supplement' was published in 1865, and is inserted at the end of vol. 1 with continuous register and pagination. In his preface to this supplement, Laing explains that about half of the copies of the 1834 issue had remained in the warehouse so he had withdrawn them from sale with a view to having the work reprinted in an expanded form. He says this has proved imposssible and so the original copies are now being issued with a supplement included. This was also available separately for those already possessing the original volumes. He also notes that the publication was of 'limited issue' but gives no figures.]. N° de réf. du libraire 14116
