French novelist, playwright and screenwriter Françoise Sagan was eighteen years old when she wrote her bestseller 'Bonjour Tristesse', the story of amoral teenager Cécile that scandalised 1950s France and went on to receive instant international acclaim. Notorious herself for her extravagant and bohemian lifestyle, Sagan continued to write, producing numerous books and plays famous for their detached portraits of people disappointed in their relationships and devoted to the pursuit of pleasure.
