The Bavarian State Library (BSB) boasts a collection of music and academic publications on music which ranks amongst the world's very finest. Music publications to be found here date back to the beginnings of printed music. The CD-ROM includes a total of c. 270,000 titles. It is the desperately needed cumulation of the print edition of the Catalogue of Printed Music which only contains those editions which were published up to 1975. The CD-ROM makes it possible to browse printed music and books from six centuries and all periodicals using numerous search criteria. A thesaurus of place names developed by the BSB has been integrated. It enables you to survey all the forms and variants of a name which are given as place of publication in the bibliographic entries. You can look up entries which contain a particular name form or all works published in a particular place by using a normalized place name.
