Decorative HrdCvr, no dj, considerable wear and discoloration on cover with bumped edges and corners but it is intact and a good sound copy, gift inscription to owner inside front cover, some staining throughout, title page, frontispiece and preface page have writing and underlining, some underlining and writing throughout, 307 p, sm 8vo.

Most of the book focuses on stoic behavior and dedication to Christian service, with a chapter on Self-Denial which discusses how much time is wasted in preparing food and how it could be better spent in Christian missionary activities. Gray cloth with spine lettered and decorated in gilt, covers decorated in blind, frontis portrait of Martha Washington, 307 pages. Covers have fairly light expected age-related wear, good hinges, sound text block, foxing throughout which ranges from light to moderately heavy, fully legible throughout, gift notation on front free endpaper, no other markings. Hard Cover. Good. 12mo - over 6¾" - 7¾" tall.
