SUBTITLED : ` A New Generation of Fibre Art in Alberta '. 56 page catalogue to accompany an exhibit in Edmonton, Alberta in November 1980 and in Calgary the following February. The catalogue opens and closes with a very traditional knitted white shawl. In between there is weaving, batik, sculpture, construction, silk-screening, and stuffing. All the artists represented are women (??) - among them the well-known Wendy Toogood and Sandra Tivy, meet also Deirdre Spencer and Judy Villett - among many. Biographic information for all appears opposite their pieces. Some of the works are shown in b/w and others use colour. Cond : Paper wrapper is black and silver with silver lettering. Front cover graphic seems to be a b/w photo of the drop-edge of a satin tablespread. Cover v. lightly rubbed, staples tight. No names, marks, creases, nor tears. Almost collectible ! ! Quote (p. 07) (from the jurors remarks) : " Compared to the volume of fibre-based objects we have in our lives, the Fibrations entries are an extremely small sliver. Our world is one of mass production, and we have come to expect a large volume of ._._._. ." Size: 8vo. Album Shaped.
