Pickering, at the end of the foreword. A very good copy with light rubbing to extremeties and a couple of small spots on the rear cover. In green cloth with gilt title on the front cover and spine and with gilt peavey. The first half of the book is poems of Paul Bunyan and the second half poetry of the north woods like Bean Hole Beans. Illustrated by the author. Without the fragile glassine wrapper it was issued with. Signed by Author(s).

First, Limited Edition. 8vo, 137 pages, green cloth, small name label on endpaper; glassine dj torn, in the repaired publisher's box (lacking one edge panel) Copy no. 149 of 322 copies, signed by Alvord on the title-page, and by its "sponsor", Harold "Pick" Pickering, at the end of his letter. 98 pages on Paul, the remainder on the North Woods. The first state, of 322 copies signed on the title. [. Siegel 81; Frazier A1]. Nine charming full-page plates by Alvord, with a number of humourous black-and-white sketches. Laid in in a memo from the original owner of the book explaining that Alvord was the brother of her friend, Charlotte. Alvord was a commercial artist in Superior, Wisconsin, and told these stories at the Happy Home Club there.
