Slight wear to extremities (chiefly to spine edge of upper cover); slight rubbing and browning to covers (leather over boards; chiefly to edges); slight internal browning to edges and endpapers. [6], 214 pages. All the best of the influential Greek lyric poet (flourishing in the late 6th century BCE), plus a selection from the noted 'Greek Anthology', with the editor's short introduction. 'End of Volume I' (page 214). One of 100 numbered copies (the entire edition; this is number 1) of the 'Delphic Connoisseur Edition' of the Breviary Treasures series, printed on French hand-made paper, bound in 3/4 brown morocco over light green boards, gilt-stamped and decorated spine with one raised band, covers ruled gilt, matching marbled endpapers, t.e.g., remaining edges untrimmed. Nice, tight copy internally.Over 100 b/w Illustrations (including Frontispiece & title page).
