Etat : Fair. 1933. Third Impression. 256 pages. No dust jacket. Orange cloth boards with lettering. Hinges are slightly cracked with exposed netting. Clean pages with noticeable tanning and foxing throughout. More pronounced to free endpaper and pastedowns. Front free endpaper is missing. Binding remains firm. Boards have moderate edge-wear with bumping to corners and rubbing to surfaces. Lettering is bright and clear. Moderate sunning to spine and edges with crushing to spine ends. Book has a slight forward lean. Visible wear and water marks to boards.

DW priced 7/6 at base of front flap. This copy has Whitehaven Public Library Reference Department label (with coat of arms at head) on front pastedown and white ink library numbers on spine of book and DW. Light library stamp on title page. but no other marks. Dw has been laid down on a light orange card. The library marks could be removed with only minor marking as a result but the Whitehaven connection suits the Lakeland setting of the book. Book and dustwrapper/dustjacket are in near very good condition with minor but just noticeable signs of wear and/or age.
