No Binding. Etat : Very Good. Tauba Auerbach has created Sierpiński Dust Bandana, a new two-color screen printed bandana. The edition shows the negative space in the self-similar Sierpiński Carpet*, a favorite fractal of the artist. Expanding on the tradition of bandana printing where black and white are deposited on colored cloth, Tauba has utilized a halftone gradient to create a 3D studded relief. The bandana measures 22 x 22 inches, and is made of 100% cotton; accompanied by an artist-designed tag/label with custom font. *The Sierpiński Carpet is a fractal created by dividing a square into 9 equal squares and removing the center one, then applying the same rule to the remaining squares, ad infinitum; edition size is unknown, it is not signed; it has never been worn but has a few creases in the cloth from storage but can easily be ironed out, otherwise in VERY GOOD COND.

Couverture rigide. Etat : Neuf. In connection with Tauba Auerbach's exhibition ''Tetrachromat'' at Bergen Kunsthall, ''Folds'' presents Auerbach's eponymous painting series for the first time in book form. In these paintings Auerbach twists and folds the canvas before applying the paint. In its stretched form the flat canvas conjures a trompe l'oeil rendering of its previous three-dimensional state. Transferred to the medium of the book, the paintings are presented here in a new and unexpected way alongside mathematical diagrams and three texts. ---------- Auerbach works with a number of printed media, and the book enjoys a quite central position in her oeuvre: from highly sophisticated book sculptures that are somewhere between physical objects and non-narrative books, to a series of individually made artist books--most recently ''[2,3]'' (2011), a pop-up book where six detailed paper sculptures emerge from the book's pages. Co-published with Bergen Kunsthall Design by Joe Gilmore, Qubik, with Tauba Auerbach. 100 pages, 65 color ill., hardcover.
No Binding. Etat : New. Fold out numbered artwork LP cover, three-dimensional popup/fold-up object, as per Auerbach s artist book investigations. Nr.657/1000. LP.

Put on something like Spray, from their latest full-length Easy Action, into your wake-up routine, daylight peeking out over the trees and buildings, an abundance of noise and effects co-existing around stern acoustic folk guitar melodies, traditions smashing against one another like metaphysical Japanese monsters to make room for more skies and visible horizons in your life. Featuring Alexis Georgeopolous (Arp), Jefre Cantu-Ledesma (who runs the Root Strata label and blog) and Scott Hewicker (Troll), the Alps make music that is made to move the mountains in your mind, and help you to take some time for yourself, out of focus from the rest of the world, and think about what you can do today to make the world better."; the music on the LP: Side A) Today & Tomorrow, Spray, Pink Orange, For Isabel. Side B) Loves of a Blonde, Easy Action, Violet Hour, Reflections For Peter Green, Instant Light, Until Tomorrow; size of sleeve when not folded: 12-1/2 x 12-1/4in, height when pyramid is opened: 10-3/4in. high & 12 in. at the 3 sides of the base; the fold out pyramid and LP are in VERY GOOD COND. Signed, limited, edition, number 392/1000, signed on a card laid-into slipcase inside box. 6 "pages" with each "page" opening into a 3D object. 6 vols. 20 x 16 inches. Pop-Up Artists Book. This pop-up book features six die-cut paper sculptures that unfold into wonderful, elaborate forms: Pyramid, Sphere, Cubearc, Möbius, Gem, Ziggurat. While much of Auerbach's work has previously dealt with compositions staged in the flux state between 2D and 3D, [2,3] represents an expansion for the artist towards a more sculptural medium. Engineered by the artist, each "page" opens into a beautifully constructed object, intricately conceived so that the large-scale paper works-some up to 18" tall-can be collapsed totally flat. The use of a bright, contrasting palette is familiar from Auerbach's previous work across a range of materials, including acrylics, etchings and C-type prints. This groundbreaking project stands as an astonishing art-object, part bookwork and part sculpture, and represents an advance in the field of pop-up technology. Tauba Auerbach is an American artist (b. 1981 San Francisco) best known for her integrated use of painting, printmaking, photography, and installation to examine the underlying structures of language and perception. Auerbach received her BA in Visual Arts from Stanford University in 2003. Her first solo exhibition, "Yes and Not Yes," was held at Deitch Projects in 2006, and propelled her to the forefront of contemporary art. She has been featured in group exhibitions at the New Museum, The Museum of Modern Art, and the Whitney Museum of American Art, and her works are held in the collections of the San Francisco Museum of Modern Art, the Albright-Knox Art Gallery in Buffalo, and the Moderna Museet in Stockholm, among others. Paper covered boards, most volumes with slight rubbing, one volume with sun-fading near cut-out in slipcase, overall very good; original cloth slipcase with some shelfwear 6 "pages" with each "page" opening into a 3D object. 6 vols. 20 x 16 inches Signed, limited, edition, number 392/1000, signed on a card laid-into slipcase inside box.
