First edition hardback, no dustjacket. Illustrated, map end papers, portraits, 255 + [7] pages. The red cloth binding has some light wear only, the spine has faded, the binding is sound. The endpaper has a bookseller's stamp. There is some edge foxin g throughout the text which is otherwise clean and crisp.
