Hardcover. Etat : Good. First Edition. Hardcover First Edition in Green cloth covered boards with gold stamped title on the spine and blind stamped eblem on the front. Two volumes. Volume 1 in nice, tight condition. Volume 2 has slight damp stain on the front board. A bit of discoloration on the top edge and spine darkened as well. All maps, plates and charts are present and attached. Good collectible 2 volume set. Professionally packaged and promptly shipped.

Admiral Bacon assumed command of the Dover Patrol in April 1915. While involved in the development of the North Sea Mine Barrage, he failed to prevent German submarines under cover of night eluding efforts to prevent their passage. When he refused to illuminate the barrage at night, he was relieved of his command of the Dover Patrol and replaced by Admiral Roger Keyes.; Illustrated; 8vo 8" - 9" tall.
