Taschenbuch. Etat : Neu. nach der Bestellung gedruckt Neuware - Printed after ordering - What is God really like What sort of personality does he have What are his values and priorities And who can best answer such questions These are vital questions for anyone who wants to understand and please him, and so ensure an eternal future. But they are not philosophical or theological questions. They are about his psychology. Gary Bakker is a clinical psychologist with 30 years of experience at answering these questions. He has studied God's words and deeds (his self-report and his behavior), found evidence of 16 psychological characteristics of God, and from these, reports some surprising conclusions. For example, if God has what we would regard as a diagnosable psychological problem, can it be treated The 16 features/chapters that lead to an overall diagnosis and conclusion are: -To watch an ant walk, build a solar system for it. -In order to climb Mt Everest, wait until it is eroded to the size of a hill. -Make the courtroom look like a café. -For a fair test, only tell a few of the class there's an exam tomorrow. -For a fair test, give everyone different exam questions. -For a fair test, lock most of the students out of the class. -Revenge, not rehab. That's the Godly way. -Put it on paper, but keep it confusing, contradictory, vague, and very horrible. -Violence is good; Or maybe not; But mostly yes. -Treat me like a king; I'm insecure. -God likes dumb people. -Blessed are the sheep. -Mind your brain. -Here's a good yarn. -Praying to the poker machine. -Love God more than your Mum.

Taschenbuch. Etat : Neu. nach der Bestellung gedruckt Neuware - Printed after ordering - The next generation of evidence-based CBT practice is here.In 2008, clinical psychologist Gary Bakker first introduced Problem-Maintaining Circle Theory to the teaching and clinical application of cognitive behaviour therapy. PMC Theory bridges the gap between psychotherapy process research, and the demands of practical real-world therapy. The result is a new non-medicalising conception of clinical psychological problems.PMC Theory allows the development of reliable CBT-based assessment, case formulation, and therapy selection. This ensures more effective practical interventions that are easily understandable, and complementary to the allied fields of medicine, psychiatry, and counselling. The theory is conceptually consistent, clinically-focused, and uses the huge evidence base available in the CBT literature.Since the first release of his ground-breaking clinician manual Practical CBT, Gary's work has been in constant demand. This new edition further develops the theoretical basis of the PMC model by describing a grand unified theory . It also extends the recommended assessment questions, taxonomy of PMCs, and homework activities to inlude: depression anxiety anger health anxiety eating disorders relationship problems chronic pain obsessive-compulsive disorder substance abuse/dependence sexual problems. This is the ultimate 'how-to' manual for CBT therapists, drawing on 40 years of clinical practice and research. Learn how best to communicate the CBT approach to clients and get them to do their homework effectively. Select and apply evidence-based CBT therapies. The manual includes 72 Homework sheets, including verbatim scripts to help ensure clients get the best out of therapy and a downloadable PDF booklet of 33 client handouts.
