Pages are mildly tanned throughout. Text is clear. Binding remains firm. Boards have mild edge-wear with bumping to corners. Light crushing to spine. Gilt lettering remains bright and clear. Unclipped jacket. Panels have light edge wear with tears and creasing.

Good red cloth boards, 9.75 x 6.25 inches approx. , with rubbing to top and bottom of spine and very slightly to the lower edge of the front board, gilt titles to spine against a black background, dust jacket is very poor and needs a thorough repair because it is chipped and the front cover detached from the spine. It could be done in order to place it in a clear plastic sleeve, many people are only looking for the information from within the book and may not need it. The contents of the book is first class, small book stamp on the rear paste-down, no other marks or inscriptions, 347 pages including index, superb full page images in colour and black & white, the British Empire includes Britain, Australia, Canada, American Colonial, India, New Zealand and Africa. Ideal for military enthusiasts and for model makers.

The dustwrapper is present, but is in tatty condition (creased , chipped and torn with significant loss). What remains of the dustwrapper has now been put in a mylar cover to protect it.
