Hardcover. Etat : Poor. Undated reprint (circa 1930). Reading copy only of a 16mo hardcover in NO dust jacket. Penciled ownership info and the date February 23, 1931 on the front paste-down. The rear paste-down and to a lesser extent, the last text page are stained and have some light book mold. Both the front and rear hinges have starters and are very tender. Livre
Hardcover. Etat : Very Good. Jay Hyde Barnum / Lois Lenski (illustrateur). First edition thus. This is one of a series of 18 volumes called Dandelion Library. They are tête-bêche books, head-to-tail, so that you read one story, then turn the book over to start the other. Both stories end in the middle of the book, upside down to each other. This volume contains "Adventures of Robin Hood", a version first published by Random House in 1953; and "Pinocchio", the Lois Lenski illustrated edition, adapted from Collodi by Allen Chaffee, first published by Random House in 1946. The vibrant, black outline, pictures of Lenski are a nice contrast to the more painterly illustrations of Jay Hyde Barnum in the Robin Hood story. Don't get taken in by all the listings of this book giving it as published by Random House in 1953 or 1946. It's not! These people are just looking at the reproduced title page and copyright page of the original books. This book has no date, and no title page of its own, but it was published by Grolier in the mid to late1960s. There's a little wear to corners and edges of boards, but a very good copy, internally excellent.
