323,[1]pp. plus several illustrations and folding map. Later blue cloth, gilt-stamped cover. Bookplate on front pastedown, front free endpaper and titlepage detached. Moderate uniform browning, paper slightly brittle. Overall, still very good. The narrative of a six-month tour of the Rockies. Most notable for its extensive chapter on the Mormons, with a view of the Tabernacle, Assembly Hall, and Temple. Beaugrand seems quite taken with the religion, listing the thirteen points of the Mormon Doctrine, as well as providing a history of Brigham Young and the establishment of the colony at Salt Lake City. An interesting Mormon item. He also has notable material on cattle ranching in the West. ADAMS HERD 229. GRAFF 221. HOWES (1954 ed.) 709. FLAKE 365.
