The late Ben Weinreb purchased the remaining stock of unsold copies of this and of other Soane Museum publications in those halcyon days when the museum was presided over by Sir John Summerson and Dorothy Stroud, and it was credibly reported when Weinreb came to collect the books concerned, he was accompanied by his young children, one of whom gave great pleasure to Miss Stroud by describing her to her face, in a very understandable error, as ?Lady Soane? 8vo. xxvi + 550pp, 48 photo plates including portrait frontispiece. Publisher?s cloth. A good copy.
