Brown cloth with a heavy patterned embossed design on the covers, with gilt letters on the front cover and the spine, and with red edges on the textblock. Very minor wear to extremities with a couple of corners just barely rubbed through, fingernail-sized lightly abraded spot on upper right corner of front cover, gilt bright, front hinge cracked but cover tightly attached, color figures in fine condition, tissue guard intact, other figures in fine condition, else near fine to fine with no internal markings. Siegfried Rabow (1848-1931) was a German psychiatrist who began pharmacological researches in 1879. From 1890 he taught in the University of Lausanne, from 1890 to 1899 as extraordinary Professor for Psychiatry, from 1899 to 1902 as ordinary Professor for Therapeutic Treatment and Pharmacology. From 1887 to 1909 he was co-editor of the magazine Therapeutische Monatshefte. And in 1897 he published the Handbuch der Arzneimittellehre with Louis Bourget which is offered here. This is a comprehensive and thorough work by two professors in the Unversity of Lausanne. PLEASE NOTE: Extra postage may be required for this large and heavy volume.
